Y'know, I've always held as personal fanon that the SGC must have made a treaty with Abydos for the rights to the naquadah mine. Here's a friendly ally with a mine near the Gate and their own reasons to fight against the Goa'uld - would Earth just ignore that? (As semi-canonical proof, I offer Enemy Mine, where they are in desperate need on naquadah - in S7, after Abydos is destroyed.) So I'm really glad to see you taking this direction.
