I like to think there was some time in canon between Legacy and Learning Curve for team bonding, but you're right--that's why we have fanfic :) Part of it could admittedly be that adult!Daniel has gone through so much trauma by that point that he's a little better at dealing with it than mini!Daniel, but still, it must be quite a scary thing to go through.
