This is wonderful. This ties in seamlessly with the precocious young Sam we saw in the Christmas ep, and shows a truly believable path towards the grown Sam we know today. I also loved how you handled Pastor Jim's take on faith and God. My dad is a former Methodist preacher and, barring the Latin, lol, Jim's conversations with Sam sound like something my Dad would have said to counsel a young person.

This is just a really delightful and in-character wee!Sam story, and you make his fear and anxiety tragically palpable, and give us clear idea why Sam would later make the choices he did. I could see this an out-take to an actual episode, you've got the voices so well. Saving to mems, thank you for sharing!
