Diplomacy (Main Post) - SG-1 gen

Title: Diplomacy
Rating: PG-13
Disclaimer: Nothing you recognize is mine. I gain nothing of material value from this.
Pairings: Gen.

Summary: AU. Sequel to Translations. Daniel must learn to find his place in the SGC and on Earth, but starting with an unexpectedly eventful return to Abydos, things become more complicated than anyone could have anticipated.
Spoilers: This will cover approximately the events of season 2, just as Translations approximately covered season 1. Again, information from later seasons may pop up, and there are a couple of major season 3 and season 1 episodes that migrated into the season 2 timeline in my AU.

Chapter1 Chapter2 Chapter3 Chapter4 Chapter5
Chapter6 Chapter7 Chapter8 Chapter9 Chapter10
Chapter11 Chapter12 Chapter13 Chapter14 Chapter15
Chapter16 Chapter17 Chapter18 Chapter19 Chapter20
Chapter21 Chapter22 Chapter23 Chapter24 Chapter25
Chapter26 Epilogue

General Notes:

This follows directly from Translations. If you didn't read the first story, you will be rather confused. The fun starts right in the first chapter.

This story will be heavier on action, expansion and deepening of relationships, and mythological speculation. Again, events sometimes fall a little out of sequence, things repeated from canon missions tend to be treated in an off-screen or missing scenes way unless it happens differently here, and aliens don't speak English without an excuse.

I hope you enjoy, and please read and review!

Finally sitting down to read this! Will edit this post to include appropriate squee later. :)

ETA: Appropriate squee can be found here ( :) And if I may make a suggestion - you should have a direct link to Translations on this page, too. (And a link to this page on the Translations table of contents post.)

You are smarter than I, and I shall add those links immediately.

Wow! This is great! I love the way you take the history that we know and work it into a world that we really don't. The characters are themselves, but with very different experiences, making them all just slightly different people. Very interesting! I must say, I don't generally go for stories where the characters are different than they are in canon, especially when they are more youthful, but I have been completely won over by your characters. I can't wait for the next chapter!
